NEW Web-Site. Revenue queries!!!

building a school

IT SHALL BE DONE!

Just a quick update in reply to the many emails. The revenue so far accrued for the Build a School in Africa new web-site AIM is £400.23p. This will be transferred to the new site and added together with any excess revenue generated from the new site.  We will also be adding the revenue from our own private Advertisers who will be advertising on the new site. This amount is limited due to the many emails advising us to keep the ads down to a minimum. However at present the Private Advertising revenue is approaching 10 thousand pounds. A big well done to Nick who has been helping to Market the space and of course an even bigger THANK YOU to all the companys who have booked a slot on the new site. It is a testament to their generosity and all that is best in the Human spirit.

Viva!

Daniel

Whilst this is all very nice you’re donating money to charity. And i’ll have to admit what you do with your money is your own business, i cant help but feel the money would be better served helping people in the UK.

Dan (not BMD), the UK has a veritable army of home charities many of which have notible public figures as patrons and all are very worthwhile!!
However we should always realise the amount any direct action charity fund raising such as Dans school could raise , say 30-40k really would be like a raindrop in the north sea to UK causes but is a life changing amount to any small specific international cause.
I have donated annually to likes of Wooden spoon but often wondered what if each team actually guaranteed 5k from their own pockets before trying to raise the further 2k…..and if Renault who supply the vehicles instead gave say 25k per event for same publicity…they would then raise 5x’s amount they do currently. Too much of our donated money is absorbed into infrastructures and admin……but I’ll bet every pound raised here will buy bricks without dillution. That said I donated 1k to scotsman’s help for heroes/250 to maddie fund of RRL bb fame /5k to cancer research……list goes on…..I promised 500quid for this which in my mind is prob equiv to 25k of any UK fund.
      Be lucky

    Hi Stevie,

Im generally of the school of thought that if a country cant afford schools and basic infrastructure but they can afford guns and warfare then im not going to give them any money. Its like giving a drug addict on the street money, you arent helping them, its going straight to a dealer and the cycle continues. You might say that i dont know where the school is and there might not be warfare there? Well when/if BMD tells us where this school is i bet its some god forsaken hell hole, like most of Africa.

It might sound harsh or that im just not a very nice person but i find all of this ‘give money to poor africans’ nothing more than a back slapping exercise for people. A healthy dose of reality and ‘f*ck them’ might actually help them more in the long run.

Dan, I have asked the question before and it does concern MTA and I ask again, basicaly, can you or any other PIs how do the market makers fix a share to lose up to 2p when it has 10 mill “buys” greater than “sells” and still loses when the “sells” outsell the “buys”? To my powers of reasoning, it appears the market makers are as bent as £9 notes and are carrying on a fraudulant operation.

Answers on a post card bretheren, Please…

Its not easy to please everyone Dan, and sometimes not even anyone. Why dont you invest the brass in a few shares you fancy. You could post the shares so we can all see how they are doing. It would be a pull for the site, especially if the shares had dividends to offer. The shares could become “Dans private investors trust fund for good causes”.
