Egdon Resources;
Achieved first gas flows at the Kirkleatham gas development in PEDL068 where it holds a 40% operated interest. It is expected that flow rates will be gradually ramped up to the maximum of around 5 million cubic feet of gas per day and 24 hour operations will commence in the coming weeks. The gas from Kirkleatham is sold to Sembcorp Utilities, the operator of the Wilton site for use in their GT2 gas turbine power plant. Egdon also completed drilling operations at the Keddington-4 well in Lincolnshire which was drilled as a re-entry and horizontal sidetrack from the Keddington-1Z donor well. Keddington-4 has now been completed for pumped production with a slotted liner over the entire horizontal section of the well. Production from the adjacent Keddington-3z well, which has been suspended for safety reasons during the drilling operations, will resume once Keddington-4 has been tested.
Europa Oil & Gas;

If the appraisal well is successful, Ithaca Energy expects to drill a sidetrack ‘keeper’ well up structure in anticipation of future development and tie back to the Stella hub. Ithaca currently holds 100% equity interest in the Hurricane discovery and Block 29/10b.

Max Petroleum;
The oil and gas exploration and development company focused on Kazakhstan, announced that it has entered into a contract with Saipem, a subsidiary of Eni, S.p.A., for a National 1625 DE onshore drilling rig for its deep, pre-salt exploration programme. The contract secures the use of the 3,000 hp rig to drill a minimum of two deep wells in the Company’s Blocks A&E licence area. The Company plans to commence drilling the NUR-1 well on the Emba B prospect in Block E during August 2011, targeting unrisked mean resource potential of 467 million barrels of oil equivalent (“mmboe”) distributed over a probable range (P90 to P10) of 170 million to 817 million mmboe with a 29% geological chance of success.
Nostra Terra Oil and Gas;
Announced that the well on the Nesbitt Prospect has reached total depth. Nostra have a 3% working interest. During drilling, hydrocarbon shows were encountered in the well logs in the target formation and a decision has been made to complete the well for production.
Sterling Energy;
Expects to complete drilling and logging operations in the Sangaw North-1 exploration well in Kurdistan before the end of May.
Range Resources;
Announced that it has reached total depth in its Ross 3H exploratory well, it’s first horizontal drilling venture. Located in Red River County, Texas, the well reached a total depth of 8,900 ft, with a horizontal section of approximately 3,400 ft. The well is being completed for production.
Petro Matad;
Recommenced drilling operations at the Davsan Tolgoi-4 well in Mongolia following the winter shut down. In early December 2010 the well was suspended at a depth of 1,271 metres and drilling towards the target depth of 2,020 metres is scheduled to recommence over the weekend.
In a far cry from the 1.462 billion barrels of oil in place number put out by the previous management in 2009, Nighthawk Energy (HAWK) has announced a reserves report over the Jolly Ranch project in Colorada restricted to just five wells and two intervals in the Cherokee formation. As a result of using this methodology, the proved, probable and possible reserves total just 128,000 barrels. Nighthawk does point out that the effective coverage of these wells is approximately 200 acres out of the overall gross project acreage of approximately 410,000 acres, around 0.05% of the total held acreage. In order to award additional reserves, further continuous production from other wells and formations will be required.
Petroceltic International;
Has sold an 18.375% interest in the Isarene Production Sharing Contract, which includes the Ain Tsila gas condensate discovery, onshore Algeria, to a subsidiary of ENEL, Europe’s second largest electricity utility company ENEL has agreed to pay up to US$36.75 million to Petroceltic, which equates to 24.5% of all back costs incurred from signing of the PSC in 2005 until the end of the exploration period in April 2010. ENEL will also fund 49% of the cost (capped at $145 million) of the first six appraisal wells in an enlarged Isarene appraisal campaign and a contingent additional well. A further cash payment of up to $75 million may be payable, determined by the level of recoverable hydrocarbon reserves approved by the Algerian Authorities in the Final Discovery Report.
Rockhopper Exploration;
Announced they have entered into a further assignment agreement to secure an additional well slot on the Ocean Guardian drilling rig. Rockhopper now intends to utilise four well slots in succession.
Salamander Energy;
Spud the 45 day Dao Ruang-3 appraisal well in Thailand. Salamander has a 50% interest in, and is operator of, Block L15/50. Still in Thailand, Salamander added that the Ocean Sovereign rig is back on location at the Bualuang Alpha wellhead platform and has resumed drilling operations.
In Indonesia, a land rig is expected to spud the South Sebuku-2 appraisal well on the Bengara-1 PSC in mid-May. The South Sebuku-2 well is appraising the South Sebuku gas discovery made in 2009.
